What Is Hoodia Gordonii? The Hoodia Gordonii is a plant, actually a desert plant that grows naturally in South Africa and Namibia. It looks very similar to the cactus plant and is a succulent plant too, a tiny succulent plant. For many centuries, people have known of its medicinal properties. And even today, scientists are still studying the plant and trying to find out more medicinal uses of it. This plant has been used by the indigenous people to treat problems with indigestion and small infections. The reason that got most people interested in the plant is the fact that the Hoodia gordonii was used by the people to suppress their hunger while they went on long hunting trips. This meant that the plant could help people with dietary problems or people with weight issues. There is one active ingredient in the Hoodia that makes it so special – the p57. That is the molecule that tells your brain that you are fully even when you are not. Your brain knows that you are getting full when you are eating and there is a part of your brain that does this for you – the hypothalamus. The P57 molecule in Hoodia tells your brain that you are already full even when you have not eaten anything. Hoodia gordonii is very effective in the treatment for weight loss. It does much more than what the other medicines can do for you. It has also been proven that Hoodia suppresses the feeling of hunger in a person. The dosage of Hoodia is very simple, just take a pill an hour or so before eating, and you can monitor your appetite. Hoodia has absolutely no side effects ! Of course, there are a few who should not take Hoodia and they are people suffering with high blood pressure, pregnant women, nursing mothers and people who are under the age of eighteen. |
